From the present aspect This post is really very worthful because everyone is using facebooks this days. This post is involved with the security issues of facebook. A very important article is embed with this post which is really informative and helpful. It contains Background of facebook and ith history, privacy options and user practice regarding that, some research questionner, previous experience in link of privacy setting of facebook, discussion and conclusion about that. I am also a facebook user. I didnt know some really important informatio before. But after reading I have come to know about this. I was amazed to know that the majority of respondents report using facebook in 2009, three quarters of the sample claim to use it often while 12 percent say they do some times. But in 2010 this scenario has been totally changed. Checking peoples status updates daily became a much more frequent activity for occassional users going up from 13% to 28%. The main aim of this article is to let people know about ever inns and outs of facebook and it is really important.
I like this post becuse I learnt a lot from that.

Exercise 18 - Commenting on others blog
I like to comment on Kusums "Exercise 10 - Evaluation" blog
She analyzed about the web 2.0 technology very nicely. She mentioned about the proper link. On the other hand she created a clear scenario of web 2.0 technology for local studies, teenage, children, and adult..Her blog is really informative. She evaluate everything very elaborately. I like her blog.
I also like Smitha's "Exercise 11 - Recommendations"
Especially I liked her way of selection. She choose Hennepen County Library services. She added some link for that. I have visited those links too. Those are well presented and really informative. I really like that.

Exercise 13 - Images

Me and my husband went to Snow Mountain in 2008 for a holiday. That was a great fun because I never seen snow before that. We had enjoyed a lot.
Exercise 12 - Current Awareness Post
I have read through the article written by Kathleen Meulen. Technology has reached to every circumstances as because the 3 years old kid also using iPad. This article depicts the scenario that how mobile devices and app took place everywhere. Author tried to discuss about the feature ao all these applications. Author arranged a comparetive study about Kindle, Pages and keynote. I think the author is amazed with the brief feature of iBook app of apple.
This sort of technologies make life easy. But it has limitations too. Because users are not interested to buy books as they can download it. Its hampering their eye sight, writing and reading quality. According to her observation there is nothing good than a printed book reading rather than an ebook.
It also discussed about the reference category apps. If the librarian make them up to date then it will be a great thing for the libraries.

Exercise 10 - Evaluation
Information sharing, user centered design, collaboration on the World Wide Web are the key matter of Web 2.0 technology. Information technology has been developed rapidly. Now the web is considered as a group of work tool for scientists into a global information space with more than a billion users. These trends have led to a feeling that the Web is entering a new and improved web version 2.0
- Web 2.0 technology allows users to interact and collaborate with other in a social media.
- Participatory, expansive, user contributed and user controlled.
- Blogs, photo sharing, video sharing, social bookmarking, tagging to social network, portals, identity.
- User centered.
- Provides a multimedia experience.
- Socially rich and communally innovative.
My local library is Campsie library which is using very little web 2.0 technologies for their users:
- Local studies: Library catalogues searching , book marking and tagging, newspaper, etc.
- Children: Summer reading program, bilingual story time, school holidays activities, bouncing babies story time session, pre-school storytime etc.
- Teenage: Your tutor online tutoring, e-book services, book groups
- Adult: The library use Youtube, computer training,
Library should develop more web 2.0 technology for their users. If they provide book review service for the user that would be great.
Exercise 9 - Community Profiles

| Interior of Campsie Library |
This is fully a multicultural area. The Caterbury had an estimated population of 143,111 persons at June 2009, which is representing 18.1% of the total population residing in the Southern Sydney region. Chinese and Arabic speaking people have the dominating percentage. Among the whole population of this area 57.9% is Christian, 13.7% is Muslim. According to the statistics of June 2010 the Canterbury had a total labour force of 63,785 persons in June which is representing an annual increase of 1.0% since June 2009. In my opinion, the educational improvement is very poor in this area. Because the statistics showing that 50.9% people have no qualification. There are lots of recreational and sporting center in this area , such as: Riverwood wetlands, Gough Whitlam park, Peace park, John Mounford reserve, Narwee, Croydon park, Wiley park.

Exercise 8- Current Awareness Post
Facebook is a very good social networking device which allow us to create and maintain a profile that can be used to tell people about own. The best thing about Facebook is the interaction with friends whom we don't see everyday. Facebook has changed the way people socialize with one another. There are loads of kill-your-time stuff on Facebook that keep people engaged all day long. It costs the privacy matter as well
Facebook privacy vary from person to person. Some people who are using Facebook but does not know very well about privacy setting. The majority of young adult users of Facebook are engaged with managing their privacy settings on the site at least to some extent. The connection between regularly posting content on facebook and adjusting privacy settings highlights the interply between privacy and content.

Investigative Exercise 7 Podcasts
Podcast is a series of digital media files. These are downloadable and program driven. Now-a-days it becomes so popular. Libraries are also using podcasting. So we can listen about library records online. If we subscribe then new podcasts will automatically downloaded to our computer.
I found a podcast in State Library New South Wales. Its name is "Events & Talks podcast". It contains public events include talks and seminars on literary, historical and contemporary issues wit presentations and showing the library's rich collections. The link of this podcast is http://www.sl.nsw.gov.au/podcasts/events/index.html

Investigative Exercise 6 Social Bookmarking
I have read the review of Born or bred?: Martin Bryant: the making of a mass murder by Robert Wainwright. I have got an idea about this book.
On the other hand I have visited the system for book reviews at Stonnington Library in Victoria. Reviews for books are very helpful for the reader. Because they will get an overview about the record. Sometimes review encoyrage people to read that book at the same time review discourage people to read. It has both good and bad sides. But currently we are passing through a very busy life. Time is going very fast. Each and everyday we have to multi tasking. So regarding the present context, I support libraries to provide book review as much as possible.
Normally I use Campsie library and Tafe library. In Campsie library, they do not provide book review. But I am not sure about the Tafe library.

Investigative Exercise 5 Social Networking
I strongly agree online communities has a great benefit for each of library staff and also as a way for connecting with the users of our libraries. Social networks such as facebook, Twiiter and My Space help us connect with other library staff in our local communities and around the world. This can provide an amazingly rich source of innovative ideas and support. Using online communications people can connect each other sharing their ideas and support. It is fun, less time consuming and great way of doing online conference rather than attending a real meeting!
In libaray, using these tools staff can announce any upcoming programs, discuss an upcoming budget vote, highlight great new resources, hold a book discussion online, ask for feedback on your services, run a trivia contest, provide a weekly list of new titles, answer reference questions and so on.

Investigative Exercise 2 Slideshare
Slide share is a very useful website for presentation. Any one get appropriate presentation of their own. I found one presentation which is very helpful for Library staff training. The name of the presentation is Libraries and Dewey Decimal classification.
Investigative Exercise 1 Blogs
I like the SI Ultimo Library blog rather than john Oxley librarian blog and the librarian in black.Because the ultimo library blog is comparatively organized rather than the other two. On the other hand its presentation is nice, colorful. Its mostly about the recent updated issues.
