Exercise 10 - Evaluation

Information sharing, user centered design, collaboration on the World Wide Web are the key matter of Web 2.0 technology. Information technology has been developed rapidly. Now the web is considered as a group of work tool for scientists into a global information space with more than a billion users. These trends have led to a feeling that the Web is entering a new and improved web version 2.0

  • Web 2.0 technology allows users to interact and collaborate with other in a social media.
  • Participatory, expansive, user contributed and user controlled.
  • Blogs, photo sharing, video sharing, social bookmarking, tagging to social network, portals, identity.
  • User centered.
  • Provides a multimedia experience.
  • Socially rich and communally innovative.
My local library is Campsie library which is using very little web 2.0 technologies for their users:

  • Local studies: Library catalogues searching , book marking and tagging, newspaper, etc.
  • Children: Summer reading program, bilingual story time, school holidays activities, bouncing babies story time session, pre-school storytime etc.
  • Teenage:  Your tutor online tutoring, e-book services, book groups
  • Adult: The library use Youtube, computer training,
Library should develop more web 2.0 technology for their users. If they provide book review service for the user that would be great.
